It took me over half the book to really get into Mia Sheridan's latest second-chance romance story. Her usual flair of angst and forlorn feelings was ever present as well as all-consuming love in the harrowing tale of young love lost and found again. The characters were good, especially in the second half, when half-truths finally spring free and honesty prevails. Charismatic and charming hero with a tortured heroine. Their survival becomes imminent as they begin to realize they can save each other in more ways than one. It's good romance that kept me interested and engaged but it's not a favorite of mine from Sheridan and took a tad too long for me really enjoy and become blissfully comfortable with.Tags : Dane's Storm - Kindle edition by Mia Sheridan. Dane Storm edition by Mia Sheridan Romance eBooks Reviews
THIS AUTHOR HAS WRITTEN SOME OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS-ARCHER'S VOICE,KYLAND,RAMSAY,PRESTON'S HONOR.MOST OF ALL YOU. THE LAST THREE BOOKS I HAVE READ HAVE BEEN HUGE DISAPPOINTMENTS. WHEN I STARTED THIS BOOK I WAS EXCITED BUT BY THE TIME I WAS HALF WAY THRU IT STARTED TO DRAG AND WENT FROM WHAT I THOUGHT MIGHT BE A 4/5 STAR TO A VERY WEAK 3. THE BOOKS I LOVED RIPPED MY HEART OUT BUT THESE LAST THREE I FELT NOTHING. I HAVE DECIDED THAT IF I WANT TO READ THIS AUTHOR I NEED TO REREAD THE ONES I LOVED BECAUSE HER NEW STORIES JUST AREN'T FOR ME.
I would have never thought Mia (because apparently we're friends) would ever be able to top Archers Voice but how wrong I was.
This was beautiful. Pure and simple. My heart ached for this couple. This was just something special. Something magical. Something soul searing. It was my favorite book this year. And probably one of my all time favorites. It goes into a category all its own. It fit into no paradigm, no template. It was just beautiful romance at its most filling.
I would recommend this to anyone. Not just romance readers. But those that just enjoy the simple pleasures of reading.
Thank you for gifting us with this, Ms. Sheridan.
Mia Sheridan’s Signs of Love series are amongst some of the most wonderfully touching and poignant romances I’ve had the pleasure of reading and Dane’s Storm lived up to my lofty expectations of the author and the series. Dane and Audra’s story held the kind of pain and heartbreak that can only be expressed by a person who’s lived through the worst kind of pain and came out the other side stronger. I loved how beautifully Ms. Sheridan dealt with the darkest aspects of this book and left so much room for hope after devastation for her characters.
Amuck. Amuck. Amuck. Amuck. My emotions pulled a total Sarah Sanderson while I was reading this book. My heart was torn in a different direction with each page turn. From anger to joy, fear to hope, despondence to devotion, Ms. Sheridan dragged me – right alongside her characters – through almost every extreme a person can experience. She has an uncanny knack for making her readers feel as if each feeling the characters experience are their own.
I have a fondness for second-chance romances, especially when the reason for the initial break-up between the characters is as horrific as the one Dane and Audra experienced. I also love books where, for the most part, the hero and heroine are the only human characters in the book. The isolation heightens everything and makes each moment feel more intense and poignant. Dane’s Storm delivered so much on both fronts; I was completely swept up in the heartbreak of their past and the intense and consuming situation that forced them to confront the things they had refused to deal with.
Dane’s Storm was a unique storyline, as far as what I have read in romance. The survival aspect of their reconnection made everything feel more necessary as if had their reconciliation was a matter of life and death. I was enamored by how Ms. Sheridan used that acute dynamic to acknowledge all the things they’d try to suppress and deny existed. It was beautiful and touching to watch them reconnect without the interference of the outside world.
I say that with each one Me Sheridan releases. This story of Audra Kelley and Dane Townsend was truly a love story from first to final word. When tragedy struck the beloved couple, grief, guilt, and sorrow wedged them apart. Right years later, when Audra is told by Dane's aunt, Ludlow Townsend, that she was snatching away the building that Dane gifted her so long ago, her precious business, Thistle and Thatch, Audra travels from Colorado to California to confront Dane. They reunite, and travel in Dane's private plane, which he flies himself, back to Colorado.to confront Luella. The trip is interrrupted by her another disaster. The couple realize at some point how much they still love each other and that it will be their I've that delivers them from disaster. In Mia Sheridan fashion, she relays the special and unshakable love of the couple as few others can. Thank you for another book of lovely memories to hold to my heart.
Once again Mia has left me speechless with such a beautifully written second chance romance. Dane’s Storm is definitely on my list of favorite books that I have read this year!
Dane and Audra fall in love as teenagers. They get married shortly after, and after a tragedy their marriage is destroyed. Audra devotes herself to her business and soon enough a complication makes her have to reach out to Dane.
After 7 years of no communication between them, they find themselves in an awkward situation. There is no running from one another. They find themselves having to deal with the past that they once ran away from. Even after all those years, it was evident that there was still so many feelings between them. After their unforeseen circumstance, they have no other choice than to revisit all the things that once ruined their relationship.
I got to admit that second chance romances are my favorite and Mia never ceases to amaze me with her words. Every book she writes gives me heartbreak, but I know that it will be well worth it!
