For the life of me I cannot understand how the books in this series are getting rated so highly. Some of the reviews read like bots or paid reviews. The premise is good and the ideas behind the individual characters have merit, but it’s easy to tell the author is not skilled in creating depth of characters, drawing good transitions or creating true tension. Bree comes off as an insecure 14yo at times when she’s obviously older. And the tension between her and Cade is not believable, almost to the point of being annoying. Everything feels shallow and rushed, and the books in this series could be put together into 1-2 books instead of 5 and have much better transitions and depth. The author hopefully will develop as a writer...

The characters continue to develop, it's like meeting new people and enjoying the experience as they become a best friend. The action is non-stop with with enough twists turns and humor to keep my attention.
Bree, Ana and Cade are back with a vengence. Bree with some new found powers and a new mission take down the Rebel Gods. Cade and Brees relationship is getting stronger. You get to see some old friends in this book as well.....it's a fantastic continuation of the series. Bring on book 4.
The tests continue as does the search for a sister. With the help of the Triumvirate a way station is discovered a quest is completed but a new quest has begin. Will Anna acquire more power and where does she fit in this new triumvirate and the third captured sister. The action continues and the challenges and dangers continue.
I really like this series, it's paced well and we very more insights into the leading character, which is best, for me, at least.
Action is good, story is good. A very nice author's note section which I simply devour.
This book is packed with good things )

On to the next book, hope I paced myself well and I won't need to wait for the last book to come out.
Linsey Hall has continued the well crafted story in Pursuit of Magic that has been the whole The Valkyrie series. The characters are fun and exciting. The story moves so fast it can take your breath away. The action is fierce. I loved reading this book and was almost disappointed when I finished it. I am definitely waiting on pins and needles for the next entry in the series. I can’t wait to find out what happens next to Bree and Cade and the whole crew.
Wow! I absolutely love this book! What I love the most about this book is the way the story takes you on a journey with the characters. I can say that Linsey Hall is one of my top 3 Best Authors of all time hands down. Ms. Hall pulls you out of your world and brings you into hers. I love her characters, I love the way they interact with each other, and I love how I want to be some of them them. I recommend this series and all of her other books to any and everyone who wants to go on an adventure. This is the series that everyone will love. And I am not so patiently waiting on the next book in the series... LOL

Another great series from Ms Hall. I posting this review to all 3 of Dragon's Gift books because I read them straight through they were that good. My only regret is the 4th one isn't available yet. The books are well paced with great continuity, progressing smoothly. Some awesome new characters as she continues to expand her magical world. She brings back some our favorite characters but in a way that you don't need to read the other series to enjoy but you'll definitely want to. I have only wish that a future book includes a lesbian romance. It is logical with the friendships being built and extremely powerful women that eventually two of them would be attracted to each other. Regardless I eagerly await the next book of Bree and the next series which will surely focus on Ana.
