NOT IN THE EYE is truly clever and innovative, if (more than a little) raunchy. I was really pleasantly surprised by the twists and turns of the plot, as well as the overall theme of the novel. This book is definitely worth the purchase, and I'm looking forward to Hazard's future work. Presented in a series of dialogues, NOT IN THE EYE is probably not for everyone, especially those that are easily offended by pornographic material and/or subject matter; I struggled a bit in towards the beginning of the novel until I got the hang of the author's flow, but I'm glad that I gave it another chance.Product details

Frankly I'm shocked. I guess technically it is a good book because it did everything right in terms of story, flow, pace and cadence, and most of the dialogue felt very natural. I can't give it five stars though, because it's about people jizzing technicolor cum. What the actual?!? Bizarre author, a very original debut but not sure if that's a compliment or not. At the worst, I'm now looking forward to a follow up. )
This book is laugh out loud hilarious. Totally original plot. I highly recommend all of C Z Hazard's books.
I got this book for free, and expected it to be a cheap read whenever I got bored, instead it turned out to be a pretty engaging story with believable characters that I ended up wondering what would happen to them.
This is just one of those books you can't stop reading once you start. An incredibly unique story with just the right mixture of intelligence, humor, social commentary, and great characters. None of the things I just listed come across as forced, like a lot of other books, but rather complement each other perfectly to deliver an incredibly enjoyable read. The pacing is excellent, and the dialogue is very natural. I can't recommend it enough. Don't be a prude, read this book!
For those that haven't read Not in the Eye, I didn't think it would be my thing at all (I typically only read things with magic/elves/dragons/Vikings/etc), but it was a very fast and very enjoyable read. I cracked so many smiles and on several occasions even guffawed while reading it. Judging by the included preview of the Vampire book, I'm gonna love it.
Set aside your squeamishness if the topic is a bit strong for you and read it anyway! This is an excellent read and I found it difficult to put down. Hazard takes an absurdest view of the porn industry and, by introducing the most ludicrous "innovation" you can think of, manages to shine a light on a part of human nature we don't always get to see.
If Hunter S. Thompson and Spider Jerusalem had a kid, it would be Indigo Julius, and C Z Hazard would be the Godfather!
I went into reading this book with an open mind... not sure what to expect. I laughed, I cringed, I pondered some life choices. The author has painted a brilliant picture of the story's porn industry and I'd be excited to see a movie adaptation of these shocking events.
